Academic leadership
A five-day intensive for senior executives preparing for their first non-executive appointment, taught by sitting chairs and directors.
The programme addresses the hardest part of the transition: moving from running an organisation to overseeing one. Teaching is built around live board simulations rather than lectures on governance codes.
- Directors' duties, liability, and the legal frame of the role
- Reading board papers critically and asking the question nobody has asked
- Board dynamics, chair relationships, and committee work in practice
- Positioning yourself for a first appointment and assessing the right board
Every participant sits through recorded board simulations and receives individual feedback from practising directors on their contribution, judgement, and presence in the room.
